"Bridging the Communication Gap"

Founder, Pala Communication, Atlanta, GA
Speaker, Author, Communication Specialist

My life is a perpetually unfolding
success story, thanks to THREE things:

(1) communication (2) passion (3) sharing

As a teenager I recognized that becoming a confident communicator was my key to opening doors and achieving success. Today as the founder of Pala Communication and a professor of Speech Communication at Clark Atlanta University, I use public speaking, classroom instruction and training to empower college students and professionals to reach their goals.

My passion for speech communication fueled my pursuit of a dual B.A. degree in Speech Communication and Political Science from Pepperdine University and a Master of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia.

A propensity for sharing knowledge led me to explore the world of teaching and a position as graduate teaching assistant at the University of Georgia. After graduate school, I began to teach communication courses at various u niversities. I’ve taught Public Speaking, Business and Professional Communication, and Voice and Diction.

Changing LanesYet, I still felt I could and should do more, so in 2003 I decided to expand my reach beyond the collegiate realm and into the corporate arena by becoming a speech consultant. This new role positioned me to share speech communication techniques that improve performance and enhance career advancement opportunities for business professionals. The demand for these services prompted the formation of  Pala Communication, a training company that empowers professionals to attain new heights by improving verbal communication skills was founded. I have worked with individuals who are leaders in business, media, and entertainment to improve their communication skills.

My first book, Changing Lanes: A New Adult’s Guide to Understanding Your Lane in Life was completed in 2006. Introducing this book, which helps college students and young adults answer the question, “What am I supposed to do with my life?” has been a blast. Changing Lanes is available in independent book stores in Atlanta and on the Internet via Amazon.com, Borders and Barnes and Noble.

In the coming years I look forward to uncovering new ways to reach, teach and empower students and professionals with effective speech communication techniques.
